		<description>DEFINITELY agree about being cautious here. It&#039;s easy to get mixed up in the emotions of wanting to help etc. and not be smart about things. I&#039;m under the impression now that Matador is being careful about addressing immediate needs on the ground and doing what is best for the country. Still, I appreciate your insights on this issue, as I agree it is very important (esp. as a Colgate Peace and Conflict Studies major!)

A quick update: we&#039;ve now added prominent donation links at all relevant posts. 

Please note (on behalf of Julie, who is currently at Haitian Consul) 

1) Matador will not be taking volunteers to Haiti who are unqualified or unskilled as medican professionals and/ or proven disaster relief. 

2) We are working in direct concert with consul in NYC and established orgs to determine their needs and to WAIT for their direction before even considering making a move. We DO NOT want to contribute to chaos, be a burden, or get in way.</description>
