Big News of the Day:

The Innkeeper’s Guide (a k a How to Be an Innkeeper/Hospitalero on the Camino de Santiago…or Anywhere Else) has been revised and posted (with fancy permalink on title bar above).

Do you want to volunteer as a hospitalero on the Camino de Santiago? Do you currently host guests who travel by foot, bike, or horse, staying briefly? Do you aspire to host in such a place? (Huts, hostels, ecolodges, you name it.) If so, this guide is for you.

It’s not so much a ‘how to’, but rather a collection of thoughts on hosting in liminal, rough, and/or weird places.

Been revising and reshaping this thing since I had the chance to volunteer as a hospitalero on the Camino de Santiago in summer 2007. There will be ongoing updates, including more links and PHOTOS.

If you have ideas about how to make this guide better, or have photos or words that would fit, please email me at stateofplace care of gmail. Thanks!

Also be sure to check out what Rebekah and Paddy are up to in Moratinos. Talk about walking the walk…
